A quick one today, looking at Hope.
There’s a lot to feel hopeless about these days. Inflation is high, there are still supply chain issues causing shortages, an open border is fueling a fentanyl crisis, both Russia and China are rattling their sabers and I’m not sure I’ve talked to one person lately who feels optimistic about the future.
Despite the bleak outlook, Christians around the world have something to lift them up from the depths of despair — our common faith in Jesus Christ. Through that faith and a focus on a helping those who are in worse straits than us, we can live the words that Paul gave to the believers in Corinth almost two thousand years ago:
“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.”
2 Corinthians 4:8 NLT
