Sunday, April 17, 2022: Easter Sunday
After Jesus rose from the dead, He told the eleven disciples to go ahead and meet Him at Galilee. Once He met with them, He told them what they were to do once He ascended to Heaven:
'Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”'
Matthew 28:18-20
This is The Great Commission, the heart of many Christian churches to this day. Christianity isn’t about remaining static, or in the case of many mainstream churches today, losing members. It’s all about each Christian doing his or her part to spread the Good News, encouraging baptism, and following Christ’s example.
On this Easter Sunday, reflect on what YOU have done to “make disciples of all the nations”. If you find yourself lacking, don’t worry. You have the opportunity to start today, and Jesus will always be by your side to help you.
