Psalm 8 Part 9: How Majestic is Your Name!
Psalm 8:9 Praise to the Creator, Provider and Savior!
“O Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth!”
Psalms 8:9 NASB1995
David ends the beautiful Psalm 8 with a repeat of the first verse. Our Lord’s name is majestic in all of the earth! I would love to have had the opportunity to see the Earth from space, like so many astronauts have done over the years (this view in the first photo is from the International Space Station). I can only imagine that the views of our special oasis in space are both inspiring and humbling.
I’m writing this on a beautiful evening in the countryside of eastern Tennessee, not far from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We have a cabin that we rented here for three nights that has an amazing view of many trees and some of the hills of the national park and this is the last night here before heading towards Nashville to fly home on Saturday after a very nice trip to this part of the country.
God, in His Majesty and as the author of life, created every leaf on every tree in every direction that I can see. He created the bears that we were thrilled to view yesterday in Cade’s Cove. He created the soft evening light and the clouds wrapping over the tops of the hills. He created the noisy rooster nearby who crows at all hours of the day. He created it all and saw that it was good. He created us, His special creation in His image, but we listened to the enemy and our stubborn free will and chose to walk into sin.
God, in His Majesty, through His great love and grace, provided us a path to salvation through the cross with His Son, Jesus. We are redeemed and promised eternal life and it is Good!

My next devotional series will tackle the epistle of 1 Peter, starting with an overview of this beloved apostle.
Heaven on Wheels Daily Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father - Your majesty is known throughout the Earth and through your incredible creation of this Universe. I praise you in every way for your love, grace, power and salvation. Amen!
