Pray persistently

I’m sure that the wonderful people who read this newsletter regularly also pray… all the time. That’s the way it’s supposed to be! Two years ago my wife and I made the decision to be on the 24/7 Intercessory Prayer team at our church, and it changed our lives.
Every Saturday, we spend an hour apart praying and listening to God. We intercede on behalf of everyone we can, and we also listen for God’s instruction. Want to know why I’m doing this ministry? Because God told me to, and when the creator of the universe tells you do to something, you do it to the best of your ability.
Our scripture today is from the letter of Paul to the Ephesians:
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
Ephesians 6:18 NLT
Paul’s instruction to us is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. Whatever you do, wherever you are, pray persistently not just for yourself, but all believers.

Steve, that gave me chills! I try to remember to pray and give thanks multiple times during the day. I try to listen, but I’m never sure if it’s my voice in my head or the Lords. I always love to hear other folks experiences!! Thank you for the postings of Heaven On Wheels! I’m so happy you were called to do this!!
I’m happy too! It took me 64 years to get to what God wanted me to do, but better late than never!
