Today we look at the third of the Fruits of the Spirit Paul described in his epistle to the Galatians: Peace.
We all worry about a lot of things: inflation, COVID-19, Russia deciding to go nuts and nuke the US, food shortages, you name it. There’s a lot to be stressed about, but there’s a great way to neutralize that stress and bring peace to our lives: Jesus.
I can’t say that I’m always worry-free these days, but I do find that compared to my anxiety-filled past, things are a lot less worrisome now. I just hand that worry to the Lord, and immediately the “peace that passeth all understanding” tones down the anxiety.
Saint Peter said it best in 1 Peter 5:7 “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
