Well, I tried. Barb and I have been on a trip for almost three weeks, and we’ve been able to keep up with writing and publishing posts during that time. Today’s the last day of our vacation (before flying home Saturday), and I just drove for four hours. My email inbox was full, I’m trying to answer some of the pressing questions, and we’re going to the Grand Ole Opry tonight. Yep, I am not going to be able to get the Saturday devotional written so you’re getting this space-filler instead.
I’ll just tell you what I have planned for this month. I started off on June 1 with a post about the first of the seven deadly sins — pride. In that post I mentioned the other sins in that list: greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth.
As we go through the month of June I’ll delve into those sins in detail (no, I’m not going to offer tips on how to excel at sinning…) and offer insight into how to avoid falling into the traps that Satan sets for us as well as the usual daily prayer. In the six minutes I have remaining for writing today, here’s today’s prayer.
Heaven On Wheels Daily Prayer:
Father in Heaven, as much as I try not to let the unimportant things in this human life interfere with studying Your Word daily, I sometimes fail miserably. I thank You that You sent Your Son, who sacrificed His life on the Cross for forgiveness for my sins and shortcomings. I pray that You remind me to focus on You alone in my life. AMEN.
You provided a message without even trying I have had horrible things with work and things at home that have overwhelmed me this week. It is wonderful to know that a brother in Christ is in need of the same reminders of what’s more important. Sometimes it’s not spreading the message but being able to receive from our God! And I have loved seeing the beauty of your travels
