Change the way you think

Romans 12:2

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Romans 12:2

My wife tells me that I am a much different — and better — person than I was for most of my life. I feel that as well. I’m happier, less bitter and angry, not filled with fear and hatred.

Why the difference? As Paul said in this verse from his letter to the Romans, God transforms you into a new person by changing the way you think. The butterfly in this photo wasn’t changed overnight. A rather ugly caterpillar became a pupa and waited patiently to become a dramatic butterfly.

As a human, it has taken me years of reading the Bible cover to cover repeatedly, studying the Word of God with others, and a lot of prayer to transform the way I think. Now I can thank God each and every day for transforming me into a new person!
