“Change your mind, change your life.” This is something my business mentor would tell me when I would get stuck in the rut of “What if’s” or “I can’t’s”.
Creating a positive mindset isn’t just about succeeding in business. It’s about interpreting life through the lens of God’s Word and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, rather than through your own experiences.
We all have experienced suffering, trauma, criticism, and self-doubt. We often walk in defeat, believing the enemy’s lies and oftentimes succumbing to them.
Life can be frustrating and sometimes, downright frightening, but it doesn’t have to be.
When you develop a Christ mindset, you can see what’s possible from a Kingdom perspective, rather than from your own. You will then be transformed and aligned with God’s purpose in your life and more attuned to your purpose in this world.
This is not just a spiritual process. It’s also a psychological and physiological one. Old thought patterns and habits hold us captive. When you change the way you think with intention and align with God’s Word, you are also creating new neural pathways. Your brain can literally be changed into alignment with the truth, which leads to opportunities, solutions, and even miracles according to God’s divine plan for you.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” - Proverbs 23:7. Your thoughts create your beliefs, which create your actions.
So how can you start renewing your mind today?
Recognize and acknowledge any negative thought patterns and write them down. Journaling is a great way to connect with your higher mind.
Choose again. What better thought could you choose to believe? Replace the negative thought with a more positive one. And, it doesn’t have to be extreme. Just a slightly more positive one than the negative one will work.
For example: Instead of: “I will never find a partner who loves me for me.” Replace that with: “I trust in God’s divine plan and the right partner will show up at the right time.” The latter feels so much better, doesn’t it?Reinforce the positive. Every time you see yourself falling into old patterns, programming, and thoughts that don’t agree with God’s Word, redirect your thoughts toward those that are more aligned with the Holy Spirit.
But don’t just think them, feel how those better thoughts would feel and hold onto that feeling for as long as you can - even if it’s just for a few moments. The more you practice this, the longer those God-like vibes will flow and your life will eventually be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
